1.fortune命運(yùn)。
△Mer.3.2.132:“Chance as fair,and choose as true:” i.e.May you always have suchgood fortune and choose as well,as on this occasion.愿你常有這樣的好運(yùn)，選擇得這么準(zhǔn)（如這次一樣）。
△1H.Ⅳ. 1.3.94:“He never did fall off,my sovereign liege,/But by the chance of war；”(Proverb:“The chance ofwar is uncertain.”勝敗乃兵家常事。)他從來也沒有反叛，最高的主上，只是戰(zhàn)爭(zhēng)的變化勝敗無常而已。
△1H.Ⅵ.5.4.3:“Have I sought every country far and near,/ And,now it is my chance to find thee out，”我在全國(guó)各地遠(yuǎn)遠(yuǎn)近近到處尋找，現(xiàn)在才算找到了你。

3. accident機(jī)運(yùn)。
chance’s mocks: ironic tricks played by accidents機(jī)運(yùn)的嘲弄。
△2H.Ⅳ.3.1.51:“how chance’s mocks/Andchanges fill the cup of alteration/With divers liq-uors!”機(jī)運(yùn)的嘲弄和多變?cè)谠鯓拥亟o人生的杯子注入了不同的酒漿！ (按： chance’s mocks又作chances mock 。)
4.piece of good fortune好運(yùn)。
△Lr.1.1.259(256):“Thy dowerless daughter,King,thrown to mychance，” i.e. fallen to my lot. 陛下，你的沒有嫁妝的女兒被拋在一邊，正好成全我的良緣。
△Lr.5.3.267(266):“If itbe so,/It is a chance which does redeem all sorrows/That ever I have felt.”要是果真如此，這種幸運(yùn)足以補(bǔ)償我歷來所受到的悲痛。

5. event,occurrence事件，事故。
△Rom.5.3.145:“Ah,what an unkind hour/Is guilty of this lamenta-ble chance!”啊，多么殘酷的時(shí)辰，造成了這場(chǎng)悲慘的事件！
△Ham.5.2.348 (334): “You that look pale,andtremble at this chance.”看見這一變故而嚇得臉色發(fā)白，渾身發(fā)抖的你們各位。
△Mac.2.3.98(91):“Had I but diedan hour before this chance,/I had lived a blessedtime；”i.e.If only I had died an hour before this ac-cident,I should have lived a happy life.我若是在這意外事件之前一小時(shí)死了，倒是活過了幸福的一生。

6. issue結(jié)果。
main chance: general issue,chief issue總的結(jié)果，主要的結(jié)果。
△2H.Ⅳ.3.1.82:“The which observed,a manmay prophesy,/With a near aim,of the main chanceof things/As yet not come to life.”觀察到這一點(diǎn)，一個(gè)人就可以，用接近實(shí)際的推測(cè)，預(yù)言那些尚未發(fā)生的事物的總的結(jié)果。
7. mischance,misfortune,unfortunate event不幸，災(zāi)禍，不幸事件。
