dutyn.
1. that which one is bound to do,obligation,one’s due,conduct due towards a superior責(zé)任，義務(wù)，本分，（對上級的）應(yīng)有舉止。
△3H.VI.5.5.33:“I know my duty,you are all undutiful.”我知道自己的本分，你們都是不守本分的人。
△H.VIII.3.2.194 (193):“Though all the worldshould crack their duty to you / And throw it fromtheir soul，”縱然世上的人全都違背了他們對你的義務(wù)，并把這種義務(wù)從他們心靈中拋棄。
△R.III.1.3. 250 (249):“Were you well served,you would be taught your duty.”如果你要受到好好的待遇，你就得先接受教訓(xùn)，懂得自己的本分。
2. that which one is bound to do,sense of duty責(zé)任，責(zé)任感。
△Ham.1.2. 39: “Farewell,and let your hastecommend your duty.”i.e. Let your haste show yoursense of duty. 再見，愿你們速去速回，表明你們辦事負(fù)責(zé)。
3. that which one is bound to do,service責(zé)任，職務(wù)。
△Oth.1.3.41: “With his free duty”，i.e. With hiswilling service. 本著他自己的職責(zé)。
4. service效勞。
△Shr.Ind.1.82: “So please yourlordship to accept our duty.”老爺如不嫌棄，請接受我們的效勞。
△R.III.3.3.2 (3): “Today shalt thou behold asubject die / For truth,for duty,and for loyalty.”今天你就要看見一個臣子為了他的誠實、他的效勞和他的忠心而死。
5. due,reward應(yīng)得之物，報酬。
△Shr.4.1.38 (36):“Do thy duty and have thy duty.”盡你的職務(wù)，享受你的酬勞。(又譯：鞠躬盡瘁，自有厚賞。)
6. piety虔誠。
△Mid.5.1.86:“And duty in his serv-ice perishing.”忠誠被拿出來的玩意兒糟蹋了。
△R.III.2.2. 107: “God bless thee,and put meekness in thybreast,/ Love,charity,obedience,and true duty.”愿上帝賜福于你，并把溫良、友愛、慈悲、服從和真心虔誠放進(jìn)你的胸懷。
7. filial piety孝敬。
△Oth.1.1.136(135):“Tying herduty,beauty,wit,and fortunes / In an extravagantand wheeling stranger / Of here and everywhere.”把她的孝道(又譯：責(zé)任)、美貌、聰明和財富全都交給了一個東飄西蕩、到處流浪的外邦人。
△Ham.2.2.107:“Who in her duty and obedience,mark,/ Hath given me this.”她出于孝心和服從，請注意，把這個交給我了。
8. obedience,submission服從，順從。
△Mid.1.1.127:“With duty and desire we follow you.”我們欣然從命。

12. dutiful respects忠順的敬意。
