(2) 和……相比 (compared with)：You look tall/The brother is dull～him.和他相比，你顯得高/哥哥笨。His work seems poor～hers. 和她的工作相比，他的工作似乎很差。B～other girls， she is a good tennis player.和其他女孩子相比，她的網(wǎng)球打得不錯(cuò)。
beside oneself(with sth)幾乎發(fā)狂：be～oneself with rage/joy/hatred/jealousy/excitement/grief/toothache氣/高興/恨/嫉妒/激動(dòng)/悲痛/牙痛得不得了(發(fā)瘋);
beside the point/mark/question離題，與正題無(wú)關(guān)：What you have said is quite (entirely)～the point/the mark/the question.你所說(shuō)的風(fēng)馬牛不相及。You will have to go. Whether you want to is～the point.你得走。你想不想走都得如此。
【注意】介詞beside與介詞besides語(yǔ)義不同，besides意為“除……之外”，不要弄混。
