△H.VIII.4.2. 45: “Men's evilmanners live in brass,their virtues / We write in wa-ter.”人們有了惡行，往往就像銘刻在金石之上，永世長存；他們的美德卻像寫在流水之上，轉(zhuǎn)瞬即逝。
2. refinement of behaviour,good behaviour文雅舉止。良好舉止。
△Lr.5.3.235 (234): “The time will not al-low the compliment Which very manners urges.”(“Manners” is thought of as singular.)這樣的時刻不容許我們講究文雅舉止所不可缺少的禮節(jié)。
