3. rigorous,severe,cruel 嚴酷的，嚴厲的，冷酷的。
△As.1.2.197 (183): “I beseech you,punish me not withyour hard thoughts,where in I confess me muchguilty to deny so fair and excellent ladies any thing.”我請求你們，不要把我想得太壞，使我難過，雖然我承認拒絕這樣美貌出眾的兩位小姐的任何要求都是很罪過的。
